Passport Office Goa – RPO, POPSK, PSK Contact Details

Passport Office, Goa started functioning in 1988. The head office is located at Patto, Panaji. It maintains 3 passport centres. This regional office cover discticts are North Goa and South Goa.

Goa has three types of passport offices. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) maintains them. The types are:

  1. Regional Passport Office (RPO):  This is the Regional Head Office of Panaji that handles final approvals and printing.
  2. Passport Seva Kendra (PSK): This centre processes documents and biometric verification. (e.g., PSK Panaji)
  3. Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK): In small town passport application process is handled by the head post office.

Passport Application Checklist: What to Complete Before Submission

  1. DOB: After 1989, a birth certificate is compulsory. For birth documents from 2002, a QR code is necessary.
  2. Application: Ensure your documents show matching name, address, and DOB.
  3. Documents: Original documents and photocopies are required. Photocopies should include a QR code; laminated documents can sometimes be rejected.
  4. Appointment: Applicants get a total of three appointments at the Passport Seva Kendra.
  5. Time: Reach the passport office 15 minutes early.
  6. Application Type: Minor and lost or damaged passport applications are not processed through Tatkaal.
  7. Post Office: POPSKs will not accept the mentioned categories.

Documents for Passport Renewal Before Expiry

Date of Birth: Birth certificate, school certificate, election card, etc.

Address: Aadhaar, bank passbook, utility bill, rental agreement, etc.

Identity: Voter ID, PAN card, driving licence, pension book, etc.

Citizenship: PAN card, birth certificate, Voter Card, etc.

ECNR: School certificate, income-tax statement, visa document, professional certificate.

Photographs: 2–3 recently taken passport-size photographs.

Passport Application Process for New Applicants

For a first-time Indian passport applicant, the process begins online through the Passport Seva Portal and continues with an appointment at a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).

  1. Register on Passport Seva: Visit the official Passport Seva Portal and create a new user account. Select the appropriate Regional Passport Office (RPO).
  2. Select “Fresh Passport”: Log in to your account and choose “Apply for Fresh Passport/Re-issue of Passport.” For a first-time applicant, select the Fresh Passport service.
  1. Fill in the Application Form: Provide the requested information, including:
  • Personal details
  • Date and place of birth
  • Current residential address
  • Family details
  • Citizenship-related information
  • Other information requested in the form
  1. Check Your Documents: Use the official Passport Seva Document Advisor to identify the documents applicable to your circumstances. Depending on the applicant, documents may be required to establish date of birth, present address, identity, citizenship, or other relevant details.
  1. Submit the Application: Submit the completed form online and keep your Application Reference Number (ARN) and other application details for future use.
  1. Pay the Applicable Fee: Pay the required passport fee through the available payment facility. The fee depends on factors such as the applicant’s age, booklet size, and Normal or Tatkaal service.
  1. Book an Appointment: Schedule an appointment at an available PSK or POPSK through the Passport Seva system.
  1. Attend the Appointment: Visit the selected centre on the scheduled date with the required original documents and copies. The application will go through the prescribed processing and verification stages.
  1. Police Verification: Police verification may be required depending on the application and the Passport Office’s decision. Where applicable, it may take place before or after passport issuance.
  1. Passport Issuance and Delivery: After the required processing and verification are successfully completed, the passport is issued, printed, and dispatched to the applicant’s address.
  1. Track Your Application: You can track the application status through the official Passport Seva Portal using your relevant application details.

If you have applied for re-issue of a passport because your previous passport was lost or damaged, you can track the new application through the official Passport Seva Portal. Passport Seva specifically lists Lost/Stolen Passport and Damaged Passport as re-issue categories.

How to Check the Application Status

  1. Visit the official Passport Seva status tracker.
  2. Select the appropriate Application Type.
  3. Enter your File Number.
  4. Enter your Date of Birth.
  5. Click Track Application Status.
