Passport Office, Kota started functioning in September 2023. The head office is located at Indraprasth Industrial Area, Kota. It maintains 15 passport centres. This Regional Office cover discticts are Kota, Bhilwara, Baran, Jhalawar, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Sawai Madhopur, Dungarpur, Pratapgarh, Banswara, Bundi, Udaipur, and Salumbar.

Rajasthan has three types of passport offices. It is maintained by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The types are:

  1. Regional Passport Office (RPO):  This is the Regional Head Office of Kota that handles final approvals and printing.
  2. Passport Seva Kendra (PSK): This centre processes documents and biometric verification. (e.g., PSK Kota)
  3. Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK): In small town passport application process is handled by the head post office.

How to Prepare Your Documents Before Applying for a Passport

  • DOB: After 1989, a birth certificate is compulsory, and birth documents from 2002 need a QR code.
  • Application: Your documents must match your name, address, and DOB.
  • Documents: Original documents and photocopies must be prepared. QR code should be included, and laminated documents can sometimes be rejected.
  • Appointment: Only three appointments are available at the Passport Seva Kendra.
  • Time: Reach 15 minutes before your appointment.
  • Application Type: Minor and lost or damaged passport cases are not processed under Tatkaal.
  • Post Office: POPSKs will not accept the specified categories.
