Q. Is the regional passport office open today?
A. As per government holidays, the Regional Passport Office remains closed. However, in some special cases, a Passport Mela is open on Saturdays. Regional offices are fully closed on Sundays.

Q. Can I visit the regional passport office without an appointment?
A. You can only visit the Regional Passport Office with an appointment. However, for any urgent purpose, you may receive permission via email to visit the Regional Passport Office without an appointment.

Q. Can I change my regional passport office?
A. The Regional Passport Office you are assigned to depends on the proof of your current address submitted during the passport application. Once you submit your application, you cannot change the Regional Passport Office. However, after changing your address, you can update your Regional Passport Office accordingly.

Q. Can we collect a passport from the regional passport office?
A. You cannot collect your passport directly from the Regional Passport Office. It is sent to your address via Speed Post. However, in some special cases, official passports are handed over directly.

Q. How do I know my regional passport office?
A. Your Regional Passport Office (RPO) depends on the current address you provide in your passport application. You can check it online using the Passport Seva Portal. Go to the ‘Know Your Passport Office’ or ‘Find Your RPO’ section. You can also call the national helpline at 1800-258-1800 (toll-free) for assistance.

Q. How much time does the regional passport office take?
A.It depends on the workload of the Regional Passport Office. Normally, the process takes one to two hours as per your appointment.

Q. What does under review at the regional passport office mean?
A.If your passport application shows ‘Under Review‘ for more than 21 days, it means there is some issue with your application. Therefore, you should visit the Regional Passport Office to resolve the issue. Before going to the Regional Office, you must make an appointment.

Q.How to book an appointment at the regional passport office for an enquiry?
A.First, go to the Passport Seva Portal. Then, log in using your passport application ID and password. Next, select your name along with the correct file number. Finally, book your RPO appointment.

Q. How to write a letter to a regional passport officer in the correct format?
A. You can file your passport complaint at the Regional Passport Office. You can also find more details regarding passport-related complaints there.

Q. How to change the regional passport office after registration?
A. The Regional Passport Office depends on the address provided in your passport application. It is not possible to change the RPO after registration. Therefore, we suggest that you apply for a new passport registration with the correct Regional Passport Office.
