Kolkata Passport Application Guide: Read Before You Apply

Before you process your passport in Kolkata, you must follow a list of things.

  1. You cannot go to the passport office without an appointment. First, you complete the form on the government website as per your documentary proof.
  2. The passport center needs original records, such as name, address, and date of birth, that are correct with your application. Two Newspaper advertisement copies needed for a profile name change. Also, all xeroxed documents must be self-attested.
  3. The application will be rejected if the correct police station name is not filled out. In my mind, police verification is complete within 21 days after the appointment. Otherwise, it is not complete; you go to your local District Superintendent’s Office.
  4. The specific declaration form required depends entirely on the nature of your passport application. These annexure types vary based on whether you are a government employee, a minor, or filing for a lost booklet.
  5. Before your appointment at PSK Kolkata, review the official application charges: Rs. 1,500 for standard processing and Rs. 3,500 for Tatkaal service. Additionally, the rate is dependent on your chosen booklet’s validity. When you visit the passport center, you review your appointment letter and payment receipt.
  6. Arrive at the Seva Kendra at least 15 minutes before your scheduled slot. And keep in mind that the portal permits a maximum of three rescheduling attempts.
  7. You must check the Kolkata RPO holiday list, and as per the official guidelines, the office is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
  8. You are going to the police station after the appointment for a fast application process. When verification is not complete, you lodge your complaint to the regional office as soon as possible.
  9. Check passport status on a regular basis and see if there are any issues in your application line verification report. If the application is under review, you must schedule an official inquiry appointment.

Finally, complete all your official processes, including RPO document verification and other processes in the Kolkata passport office. Via speed post, you will get your passport at your local address.
