  1. Regional Passport Office (RPO):  This is the Regional Head Office of Guwahati that handles final approvals and printing.

Indian Passport Application: What to Do Before Booking an Appointment

  • DOB: A birth certificate is compulsory for those born after 1989, while birth documents from 2002 require a QR code.
  • Application: Review all details and match your name, address, and DOB.
  • Documents: Prepare originals and photocopies, including the QR code. Laminated documents can sometimes be rejected.

Fresh Passport Application: Step-by-Step Guide

A Fresh Passport application is generally used when an applicant is applying for an Indian passport for the first time. The process starts online and is followed by an appointment at a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK).

Step 1: Register on Passport Seva: Visit the official Passport Seva Portal and create a user account. Select the appropriate Regional Passport Office (RPO).

Step 2: Log In: After registration, log in using your registered credentials and access the passport application services.
