Apply for Changing from ECR to Non-ECR

You can apply for a fresh passport with Non-ECR status if you now meet the criteria (e.g., you have passed 10th standard).
You can also apply for a “re-issue” of your existing passport to change the ECR status. This is treated as a passport renewal/update.
Required Documents: You must submit proof of your Non-ECr eligibility:
- For Education: Original and photocopy of 10th/12th/degree certificate.
- For Income Tax Payee: ITR-V/Assessment Order of the last financial year.
- For Government Servant: Service certificate from the department.
