Passport Office, Jalandhar started functioning in September 1979. The head office is located near the Bus Stand, Jalandhar. It covers 10 passport centres of Punjab, viz Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Jalandhar Rural, Kapurthala, SBS Nagar, Gurdaspur, Gurdaspur (Batala), Pathankot, and Moga.

In Punjab, there are three types of passport offices. It is maintained by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). The office types are:

  1. Regional Passport Office (RPO):  This is the Regional Head Office of Punjab that handles final approvals and printing.
