| Q. How to apply for a passport online? |
| A. First, you go to the service website, register a login ID and password, log in with the same ID and password, and then fill out the form for a new application or renewal application. Make the final fee payment and make an appointment. You go to the seva kendra. Keep in mind you have only three appointments. |
| Q. What are the documents required for a passport? |
| A. The list of documents for date-of-birth proof is: birth certificate, PAN card, voter card, driving license, other government ID, address proof (Aadhaar card, voter card, bank passbook, voter card, driving license, gas bill, electricity bill, rent agreement), qualification school certificate, school transfer certificate, and last qualification. As per the rule, after January 1989, the birth certificate is mandatory. |
| Q. How much are passport fees? |
| A. Fees are normal: the renewal fee is Rs. 1500, the tatkal fee is Rs. 3500, the lost and damaged fee is Rs. 3000, and the minor fee is Rs. 1000. Also, know that once the fee is paid, it is not refundable. |
| Q. Can we visit the office without an appointment? |
| A. No, you cannot go to the office without an appointment. It is compulsory. But for some medical cases or RPO orders, there is no need for an appointment. |
| Q. How many days to take a passport after police verification? |
| A. After the appointment, police verification is completed within 21 days, and after police verification, 15 to 20 days later, you get it. If you cannot get it after 20 days, you go to the regional office with an appointment. |
| Q. How do I track my status? |
| A. First, you go to the Seva Kendra website, then click Track Application Status. Next, fill in the application file number and date of birth. Finally, you show status. If the status police verification report is not submitted or the application is under regional passport, you must go to the RPO with an appointment. |
| Q. Which annexure is required for a minor? |
| A. Minor annexure is annexure-c or annexure-d. All annexures are needed for printing a copy with the parent’s signature and ID proof. A manual annexure copy is not applicable in the office. |
| Q. Is the seva kendra open on Saturday? |
| A. No, any office or seva kendra is not open on Saturday or Sunday. But in some special cases, Passport Mela is open on Saturday. |
