Pending Police Verification or Re-verification

Police Verification is a mandatory background check conducted by the local police to confirm the details provided in your passport application. Its purpose is to verify:

  1. Your identity, your residential address, your citizenship, any potential criminal record, or security threats.

      2. Passport Verification has two main types:

Pre-Police Verification: Happens before the passport is printed.

Post-Police Verification: Happens after the passport is printed and dispatched.

Police Verification Re-verification

Re-verification is when the police are asked to conduct the verification process again. This can happen if:

  • The initial verification report was negative or raised concerns.

  • The police officer’s report was incomplete or contained discrepancies.

  • You were not available at your registered address during the first visit.

  • The Passport Office needs clarification on certain points from the initial report.
