Online Application & Appointment Process

Before the application in Kerala, you can check the following information:

1. First, all the necessary documents and annexures are checked before starting the application process.
2. Then, go to the government Portal to fill up your application.
3. Next, you check your documents as per the application form.
4. After submitting your application online, you must pay fees as per the type or pages.
5. After that, you book an appointment at Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office Seva Kendra (POPSK) as per your location. 
6. Thereafter, carry all original documents with self-attested photocopies.

Passport Police Verification

Before your appointment, you can review the types of police verification.

Nature Description
Normal Application Standard process for first-time applicants or those with expired passports.
Pre-Police Verification This applies to minors, older seniors, or government employees.
Post-Police Verification This case is only used for tatkaal. The passport is printed and dispatched immediately after your PSK appointment.
Time Within 7 - 21 days

 

Check Status in Kerala

After the application, you can check the status in Kerala by following the steps.

Step 1 First, you go to the government website
Step 2 Then, click "Track Application Status" on the home page
Step 3 Next, select the application type.
Step 4 After that, fill up the file number and date of birth
Step 5 Finally, click "Track Status," and you can see your status.
Reminder: You get the file number in your received copy, and you get the status by sending an SMS to 9704100100 in the format '<< STATUS>><< SPACE>><< File Number>>

Under Review at Regional Passport Office

Show the following steps for review in passport office.

What It Means Your application has passed the initial document check at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK), but more detailed verification by senior officials at the Regional Passport Office (RPO).
Duration it extends to 3-4 weeks or more
Documentary Issues A discrepancy in your date of birth, address, name spelling, or supporting documents
What You Should Do 1. Check for an Official Letter in your main. 
  2. Contact to helpline number 1800-258-1800. 
  3. Complain to file a grievance on pgportal.gov.in under the Ministry of External Affairs.  
  4. You can visit your RPO's grievance cell with your ARN and original documents for a direct inquiry

 

Regional Passport Office Online Appointment

RPO online appointment process is given below

Access Official Website Go to the official Government of India portal: passportindia.gov.in
Log In to Your Account Return to the homepage and click "Login" under Existing User. Enter your created Login ID and password.
Schedule Appointment View your name of ARN / File Number. Find the Schedule Appointment for Inquiry at RPO in the bottom menu and book an appointment date.
Available Slots Keep in mind the slot date is open only at 3:30 pm as per the official time.
Rescheduled Limit You can get only three appointments in the RPO Kolkata.

 

Regional Passport Office Complaint Process

You can raise complaints at various stages of your passport application process from the Passport Seva Kendra.

2. Click on the "Register Grievance" link in the top menu.
3. You will need your Application Reference Number (ARN).

Police Verification Report is Awaited

To process the number of steps for quick police verification.

Request forwarded for Police Verification. The RPO has completed its initial action. The delay is now with the police.
Delay in Police Verification. Follow up directly with your local police station. Inquire about the status and any required documents.
The police station is not responding, or there is no progress. File a grievance on the CPGRAMS portal cpgrams.gov.in. This will officially alert the RPO to follow up with the police on your behalf.

 

My passport is printed, but I haven't received it

In case of facing a problem with passport printing, you must check below. 

Get Tracking Details Visit the official passport website and click "Track Your Passport Status" with your 15-digit File Number and Date of Birth.
Track on the Courier Website The result will show your Dispatch Number and the Courier Name (e.g., India Post/DPI).
Take official action for no movement Go to the CPGRAMS portal and lodge a Grievance.

 

Visit the RPO directly without an appointment

. Check your information to visit without an appointment.

Administrative & Processing Center Services are not directly accessible by the public for general queries.
Public-Facing Service Desk Walk-in (with prior online appointment) for all standard passport services.
Issue Resolution Visit in person, but only after registering a grievance online via the CPGRAMS portal to get a ticket/reference number.
