Questions and Answers
Q. How to Edit, Cancel, or Close an Application, including File Number?

A. Before applying, you can edit easily, but after submitting an application or fee payment, you cannot edit. It is only to be edited by the officer in PSK. Also, if you want to close your previous application or file number, you must go to the regional office with an appointment. |
Q. Can I visit the office without an appointment?
|
A. There are three types of offices: POPSK, PSK, and RPO offices. Both office appointments are compulsory; without an appointment, you cannot go to the office. |
Q. Is police verification needed for everyone?
|
Police verification is compulsory for all types of passports, like normal, tatkal, minor, and police certificates (PCC). Keep in mind that without police verification, it is not valid. |
Q. How to correct the date of birth or birthplace in the passport?
|
A. In the Kerala High Court judgment case No. 9073/2015 dated 23/06/2015, major applicants can change within 5 years of the first passport issue; minor applicants can change until the minor's age. Proof of change of date of birth documents is a birth certificate or a school certificate. Also, the date of birth change depends on the court order. |
Q. Why is the passport getting delayed?

A. Your passport is getting delayed for some reason. 1. Documents not correct 2. Verification is pending. 3. Police verification is not completed. 4. And the police have not submitted your report. |
Important Notice
In Gujarat, the seva kendras, or post offices, only process document verification with an appointment. Those offices cannot help with delayed passports, applications, or police verification. The Regional Passport Office, Ahmedabad, is the main authority to solve these types of problems, queries, and other services. |
