| Q. How to Edit, Cancel, or Close a Passport Application, including File Number? |
| A. Before submitting a passport application, you can edit easily, but after submitting a passport application or fee payment, you cannot edit. It is only to be edited by the passport officer in PSK. Also, if you want to close your previous passport application or file number, you must go to the regional passport office with an appointment. |
| Q. How much is the passport renewal fee? |
| A. total passport cost for renewal is Rs. 1500 per passport. But the passport costs are an adult passport at Rs. 1500, a minor passport at Rs. 1000, a Tatkal passport at Rs. 3500, and a damaged or lost passport at Rs. 3000. |
| Q. Can I visit the passport office without an appointment? |
| A. There are three types of passport offices: POPSK, PSK, and RPO offices. Both passport office appointments are compulsory; without an appointment, you cannot go to the passport office. |

| A. After printing of passport, you can get your passport within 7 days from the passport office. |

| A. Yes, a passport can be used as complete address proof in India. |
| Q. Is police verification needed for everyone? |
| Police verification is compulsory for all types of passports, like normal passports, tatkal passports, minor passports, and police certificates (PCC). Keep in mind that without police verification, a passport is not valid. |
| Q. How to correct the date of birth or birthplace in the passport? |
| A. In the Kerala High Court judgment case No. 9073/2015 dated 23/06/2015, major applicants change within 5 years of the first passport issue; minor applicants can change until minor age. Proof of change of date of birth documents is a birth certificate or school certificate. Also, the date of birth change depends on the court order. |

| A. Your passport is getting delayed due to some reason. 1. Passport documents not correct 2. Passport verification is pending. 3. Police verification is not completed 4. And the police have not submitted your report. |

| A. Two types of passport pages. One is 36 pages, and the other is 60 pages. Fewer visits outside India need 36 pages, and others, with more visits outside India, need 60 pages. |
